Meta and open Metaverse Academy in Nice to train talent for tomorrow’s jobs

Meta announces the opening in Nice of the Metaverse Academy, a free and inclusive school entirely dedicated to the metaverse, in partnership with, a social and solidarity-based digital training company, Metropolis Nice-Côte d’Azur and Provence-Alpes Region- Côte d’Azur. With this initiative, Meta wants to support job creation and training for new professions related to the metaverse in the South region, which has a thriving digital ecosystem.

Located in the heart of the Center Européen d’Entreprises et d’Innovation (CEEI) in Nice, the largest incubator for startups on the Côte d’Azur, the Metaverse Academy Nice will open its doors. from December 5, 2022. Students will benefit from a first phase of intensive individual training session of 3 to 4 monthsfollowed by a second phase 15 to 16 months in a work-study program within the school’s local partner companies. A dozen companies have already committed to recruiting a work study student at the end of the training program, including Accenture, Virteem and Tequilarapido.

The training will be dedicated to learning the profession of developer designer specializing in immersive (virtual, augmented and mixed reality) and metaverse technologieswhich is on the list of new professions identified by France Skills and considered to be under pressure in the labor market.

About twenty students are expected for this first class in Nice. This is the second school in the southern region, with Marseille which is also scheduled to open on December 5. Other openings are planned in Paris and Lyon in the coming weeks. A total of one hundred students will participate in this first pilot year. Other cities and formations may follow.

This program, accessible to all, aims to respond to companies’ demand for new skills and professions related to the metaverse, but also to ensure that people from different backgrounds can benefit from these professional opportunities. It will be based on all technologies, devices and software in the market and will target official certifications.
