A project supported by the Southern Region

Simplon has been supported by the South Region since 2020, in particular to develop innovative projects in the field of vocational training.

For this specific metaverse academy project,The region voted in the Plenary Assembly in October to support the implementation of this experiment, within the Training Innovation Fund (FIF), for an amount of €350,000.

Metaverse, what is it?

Metaverses are entirely virtual spaces in which people interact through avatars. They can in some cases enable a mix of real and virtual experiences. It is possible to transact with non-fungible tokens (or NFTs for “non-fungible tokens”), cryptocurrencies or any other digital currency that is based on a blockchain. Thus, it is possible to buy and sell products and services and provide a new customer experience through 3D reconstruction.

Several technologies are used to operate a metaverse: 3D modeling, augmented reality, virtual reality, blockchain (NFT, cryptocurrencies), artificial intelligence, Internet of Things.
