Amsterdam, May 24, 2022 – Inspired by the way Harman Kardon invites its listeners to discover more behind the sound, the Harman Kardon Suites Art of Sound 2022 competition lets you discover a new world where art and music come together . In this competition, artists are invited to create a unique digital artwork inspired by the classic Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, OP.58:1. Allegro maestoso, performed by virtuoso pianist and Harman Kardon ambassador Lang Lang.
The culmination of the competition is an exhibition at the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival, July 1-16, offering music lovers a new dimension of digital art to discover. Harman Kardon Suites’ Art of Sound Contest, in which European art lovers can enter and vote, unites the worlds of classical music and art with innovative NFT (non-fungible token) technology, providing a platform for digital artists .
The competition is judged by public voting and a jury of experts, including internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and legendary record producer Quincy Jones.
The Art of Sound contest is now open and participants can submit their digital art until June 1, 2022. From June 1 to 15, the public can vote for their favorite digital artwork through this link. The ten creations with the most votes will be exhibited in the Harman Kardon Suites Digital Art Gallery during the festival. The Montreux Jazz Festival’s first digital art exhibit will take place at the iconic Lake House and will be open to the public throughout the festival. The ten winning creations will be converted into NFTs and auctioned on behalf of the artists. The grand prize winner will be announced at an award ceremony.

In order to boost competition in the Netherlands, Harman Kardon is already showing the work submitted by artists in the Netherlands. Therefore, Harman Kardon will open a Harman Kardon SoundBar for one night on June 8 at A’DAM Toren in Amsterdam with a view of the water and live music by Alain Clark, so that the atmosphere of the Montreux Jazz Festival can also be feel in The Netherlands. The digital art gallery showcases digital interpretations of Lang Lang music artists, while the visitor is immersed in the sound experience of the Harman Kardon Citation MultiBeam 1100. Entrance to the Harman Kardon SoundBar will be raffled off through various contests .
